The twins list is a very special community. Most of us never meet in person, and yet we share with each other our greatest joys and, sometimes, our deepest sorrows. Even though most of our members who have suffered a loss choose to leave the list, rest assured that they have a special place in our hearts.

To add a memorial to the site, contact twinfaqs@yahoo.com. If you are looking for bereavement resources, see http://www.twinslist.org/bereavement.html. We also have suggestions for helping a friend cope with a loss.

Nicole Jane Fairlamb

April 25, 1976 - November 17, 2007
Aged 31 years old

I will miss you with all of my heart I will never forget you my beautiful sister.

If we had one lifetime wish
One dream that could come true
We'd pray to God so hard
For yesterday and you.

The things we feel so deeply
Are the hardest things to say.
But we your family and freinds, love you
In a very special way.

They say memories are golden
Well maybe that is true.
But we never wanted memories,
We only wanted you.

If teardrops were a stairway
And heartaches made a lane,
We'd walk a path to heaven
And bring you back again.
A thousand times we've cried.
If our love could have saved you
You never would have died.

Rest in peace our lovely Nicole.

Robert William Odette

March 22, 2003 - March 25, 2003

In loving memory of our beautiful baby boy, born with his identical twin brother Jack River at 31 1/2 weeks. He had severe hyrops fetalis and never woke up to see the love in his parents' eyes. We asked him for three days to fight to come home and be raised by us, but his little body couldn't take any more struggling. He is now our little angel, surrounded by family members and waiting for us to join him.

Robby, we will never forget you. You are always in our hearts and on our minds. We will always think of you as Jack passes through all life's milestones. We love you and miss you dearly, sweety. Grow up & go run and play; don't let our tears put your candle out.

Love always,
Mom & Dad, Jack, and big sister Chloe Raine

Nicholas Alexander Arnold

Loss of a Twin Brother

As the sun sets on a February day, and thinking of you I'd like to say.

You were one of a few to be found around, full of joy and love abound.

My heart is lonely as our birthday nears, for taken from you were many happy years.

I can't wish you happy birthday as I used to do, but on this day I'll think of you.

God has a plan and he carries them through, although at times I say "why you?"

As time goes by and I grow old, the memories of you I'll cherish like gold.

Gloria Baker

In Memory of Matthew & Noah Diodati (identical brothers)

Born & became Angels on October 12, 2001 (at 14 weeks gest. due to complications & infections)

Matthew was born to me and lived only a brief minute. I cradled him in my hands as my heart broke knowing I was losing him. Noah was delivered 2 hours later and I never was able to see or hold him. I was told he died almost as quickly. They were both precious to me and the scar that their passing has left on my heart will never fade. I think this poem says it best...

Never to have known you, but to have loved you.
Never to have held you, the way mothers do.

With you I bury my hopes and dreams
As the unknown children I'd briefly seen.

But also I bury the love in my heart
And the sadness of knowing that we must part.

And I pray to God to do for you
All the things that I would like to do.

And keep my babies safe from harm
To laugh and frolic in springtime's arms.

We will never forget your brief presence with us.
Love, Mommy & Daddy
& big brothers Joseph & Nicholas

Mackenzie Karah Gaines

Born on August 3, 2000
Received her Angel Wings on October 13, 2000
Recipient twin in Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome
Survived by her identical twin sister, Madisyn Kathleen.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.
You make me happy when skies are gray.
You'll never know dear, how much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.

The other night dear, as I lay sleeping,
I dreamed I held you in my arms.
But when I woke up, I was mistaken.
And I hung my head, and cried.

Mommy and Daddy love and miss you!

Harley William and Hayden Arthur

In Loving Memory of Our Little Boys
Harley William and Hayden Arthur
Born Together October 4, 2000
Became our Precious Angels Together October 9, 2000

Harley and Hayden were born at 26 weeks, when nothing could stop their arrival. Their early arrival was due to a uterine infection, which also caused the bleeding in their brains. For five tumultuous days, they fought courageously in the NICU. But they were very sick little boys, and they received their wings in the arms of their Mommy and Daddy, surrounded by the love of their family and friends. If our boys could have lived on love alone, they would have lived for an eternity.

I would have rather to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.

Theo Shisler

4/12/99 - 11/13/99
Theo, you were part of our List family long before you were born. We greeted your birth with joy, watched your struggles with sadness, cheered each advance, and cried at each setback. When you lost your battle, seven months and a day after you entered the world, the grief was felt round the world.

Thank you for being part of our lives, no matter how briefly.
Survived by twin brother Felix

Melba Sharon Harris McCroskey

October 28, 1944 - March 21, 1991
Taken much too soon from this life by a very cruel illness - Lou Gherig's Disease (ALS)

She left behind many who miss her and still grieve her passing - including an identical twin Velma Harris Ezell, a daughter and son of whom she would be most proud - Cindy and Jason, and 3 beautiful grandchildren whom she never had the pleasure to meet - Abigail Rae, Clayton Edward, and Kilian Rye.

Rest in peace, sweet Melba, and continue your wonderful job as guardian angel for your grandchildren. They are precious and they all have part of you in them.

We love you and miss you!
